I have lived in Charleston most of my life.  I sought to broaden my world view after completing school.  I served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961.  I then began a federal civil service career at Charleston Naval Shipyard and later Naval Supply Center Charleston.  With the urge to try new experiences I worked for 3 years for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton Washington from 1974 to 1977.  That was a beautiful part of our country but I missed Charleston (Charlestonians usually come back home).    

I had the opportunity to serve in the U.S. Department of Labor regional office in Atlanta, GA from 1977 to 1979.  An opportunity was presented at Naval Hospital Charleston so I transferred to that position where I completed my civil service career back HOME!   I have lived on Johns Island, Hanahan, North Charleston, Edisto Island, James Island, Summerville, and Moncks Corner.  This has really given me a broad understanding of the entire greater Charleston area.  I am married with three grown children and 8 grandchildren.  I have been heavily involved in civic activities most of my adult life:
* Currently active as Deacon for Berkeley Baptist Church
* I have served as a board member, Habitat for Humanity, Berkeley
* Currently a member of Gideons International, Berkeley Camp
* Volunteer or part time ambulance technician, EMT,  Paramedic from 1962 to 1994
* Volunteer Firefighter, Chief, Medical Officer, or Deputy Fire Marshal 1983-1993
* Committee Chairman  involved in early development of Charleston County EMS
* Pioneer in early development of CPR training  for SC Heart Association
* Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Berkeley County; certified to patrol alone  2000-2005
* Member of The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels Primary occupations have included – all while working for Federal Civil Service
* Apprentice Boilermaker
* Radiological Monitoring Technician including supervisory positions
* Occupational Safety and Health Management Real Estate Career
* First licensed approximately 1989 – initially part time
* Full time starting 1994 to present
* Achieved Broker status in 2010
