About Gene Hensley
Gene was born and raised in Rapid City. He graduated from Rapid City High School in 1968, and his senior year won the South Dakota 133 lb wrestling championship. After graduating with a teaching degree from Black Hills State University in 1972, Gene taught school in Buffalo, SD, starting their wrestling program. The Harding County wrestling team still today is consistently rated in the top ten wrestling teams in the Class B division for the state. Gene continued on to teach junior high history, and coached football, wrestling and high school track in Rapid City. In May of 1977, Gene left teaching to begin his Real Estate career.
Gene joined RE/MAX of Rapid City in 1981, and purchased the franchise in 1989. All in all, Gene has 34 years of experience as a Real Estate professional in the Rapid City area.
