About Tim Taylor

Born in Columbus and raised in Clyde, Ohio, Tim Taylor graduated with a degree in psychology from The Ohio State University. His curiosity about people led him to one of the most people-driven industries in the world -restaurant and hotel management.

Tim took a break from the restaurant business over a summer to help some of his friends build houses in Westerville. “It was wonderful. The people I worked with were genuine, earthy. They were out there with their bandanas around their necks, and a radio playing. They took a great deal of pride in their craft.”

Years later when Tim bought his first house, this experience came in handy. “The builder did not keep me informed of the building process. I actually decided to re-nail the floors in the kitchen correctly, not to mention many other overlooked details. It was nothing like what I had experienced years prior.” This led to one of Tim’s goals when working with his clients. “When I work with someone, I impart knowledge. I step through the process with my clients hand-in-hand. It’s quite an education for them.”

In the hospitality industry, Tim developed a business outlook centered on the thought “we are here to take care of people.” He transferred that principle from the hospitality industry to real estate. “The customer must be heard to determine what they need. While many often think to ‘take care of themselves first,’ I believe in business you ‘take care of others first.’ If you do this well, financial gain as well as many other rewards will come.”

But Tim’s hospitality philosophy wasn’t always well received during the initial stage of his career. His manager at the time, and a past president of the Board of Realtors, told him, “You’re too nice. You won’t make it.” Refusing to give up on his belief in putting others first, Tim gave many successful years to this business philosophy. Tim saw this gentleman a number of years later when Tim was being honored for becoming a member of Columbus Board of Realtors’ Twenty-Five Million Dollar Sales Club. His previous manager pulled him aside and told him, “I’m glad you didn’t listen to me when your were getting started. I was wrong and you’re still a nice guy.”

“I got into real estate shortly after I bought my first home. Buying the house was a bad experience. My wife and I invested a great deal of money and we didn’t get a fair shake. I thought people should be treated better. With a successful background in the hospitality industry, I knew I could bring those people-focused philosophies to the real estate world and help others comfortably and knowledgably make one of the biggest investments of their lives.”

Tim has demonstrated this work ethic time and again. A 27-year-old professional at a local hospital relied on Tim’s expertise when buying her first home. Two and a half weeks into the process she found her dream home. In her own words, “[Tim] did an in-depth and exceptional job of educating me on the home buying process, for that I am grateful.”

When a couple and their asthmatic son relocated to Columbus from the West Coast, Tim took care to find appropriate doctors and also a compatible school district for the family. Tim was rewarded with a call from the client’s mother. A long time Realtor® herself, she congratulated and thanked Tim for his outstanding attention and dedication to her family. As anyone can attest, kudos from a peer is of the highest accolades anyone can receive.

Since 1985, Tim Taylor and his team of professionals have been assisting Central Ohio families with their real estate needs. With an extensive list of credentials and a devotion to continuing education, Tim represents the top echelon of his profession.

As a life-long learner, Tim continues to expand his knowledge and skill sets in real estate through local and regional seminars, attending state and national conventions, and continuing education classes so that he can pass his knowledge on to his clients. “I’ve even taken a class in Feng Shui for those seeking suggestions on the flow of energy in their homes.”
