DBA (Doing Business As)
Certification by a state that a principal is doing business under an assumed name. The certificate also states the address where the business is being conducted. The primary purposes of the DBA certificate are: (1) Registration of a business and its assumed name giving the principal’s name and address. (2) Protect the business name from being used by others. (3) Provide a public source of redress.
