Verne is extremely easy to work with and attentive to all of our needs. We have used him multiple times when we have bought and sold two separate houses. He made the whole experience smooth and worry free. Verne has a strong grasp of the market and know what price point a house will sell and a reasonable offer to give on a purchase. I would highly recommend Verne to anyone in the Iowa city/ Cedar Rapids area!

We highly recommend Verne and Joan Folkmann. We had three properties to sell and because of his expertise and market savy, we got an excellent price. Communication with Verne was very good. He was responsive to our questions and attentive to our sales. Finally, Verne and Joan are nice people. They were not just nice to us as their clients, but to our tenants, mortgage lenders and other brokers. They made the sale process a pleasure. We would certainly use Verne and Joan for any real estate transactions we might have in the future.

Verne was really great to work with. We were selling a property owned by a deceased relative and do not live in the area. Verne was very knowledgeable about the process and was exceptionally helpful to us. He went above and beyond to help us in some of our needs since we are not local. He was a pleasure to interact with by phone and all documents were handled electronically. We are grateful for his assistance and give him our highest review score.

We began working with Verne Folkmann when we decided to move our family from California to Iowa this summer. He came highly recommended and now we know why. Verne has been a realtor in the Iowa City area for over 25 years and knowledge is vast. He answered questions we had about neighborhoods, shopping, home prices, traffic etc with ease. Verne answered calls, texts and emails promptly. He told us what vendors to use for remodeling and checked on the house regularly to make sure the work was being done right and on schedule. When we had a problem with one of the vendors, Verne went to bat for us and hung in there over a few months until the vendor made it right. (Verne had not had a problem with that vendor before and is no longer recommending their services.) Bottom Line: Verne went above and beyond for us. He’s a very kind man, extremely easy to work with, and we highly recommend him as well.

I chose Verne, as our realtor, because I believed he had the best expertise to get us through the buyer’s process. We processed our loan through an out of state company for Veterans that needed much paperwork which delayed our closing date twice (about two weeks). During this time we had several phone conversations with Verne along with him reaching out to our lender. Each time something was needed for the lending institution he drove about 45 minutes to our property. His diligence, patience, and professionalism were superb.

Verne is absolutely the best. He was willing to set up showings on hours notice and his knowledge of how to put in an offer got us our house. We love this house and are very grateful for Verne for his help. He also makes the selling process smooth too. He not only has helping me buy and sell my condo, but he helped me and my fiance buy our house as well as help my sister and parents with their selling needs.
