Having lived here forever, I can certainly attest to what a great place the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area is to live, and that includes Chatham County and Durham. I grew up along the high banks of Morgan Creek and the UNC Botanical Garden. My father was a Professor at the UNC Business School and my Mom worked in the ticket office at Carmichael Auditorium (the old Dean Dome) and then the Dean Dome (thanks for all those great tix Mom!). Over the years, I’ve spent time living in town, on the fringes, and in the country, and loved them all for their different lifestyle experiences.
From my days attending public school & Durham Academy, to those at UNC and as a professional, it has been a fantastic ride. I’ve always had a penchant for the surrounding real estate and I’ve spent many weekends driving around the area checking out the latest new homes and developments and keeping up with what’s happening in the older neighborhoods.
If you are into golf (everywhere), skiing (hey, its not Vail, but you can get a fix), yoga (several great centers), working out (several gyms and the great outdoors), charity work ( I do Relay for Life ) or just meeting good people, this is the place.
I came to real estate after spending the first part of my professional life as a sales engineer with a telecom company in the Research Triangle Park, and then as the General Partner of private stock and currency trading enterprises. Many years of successful but solitary days at my computer left me feeling that I was missing something, despite the heady and exciting nature of trading.

It was such a pleasure to work with Kevin throughout our sales buying process. Kevin offers a combination of consultative sales approach along with vast knowledge of the greater Chapel Hill area. A good example of this was when he drove to view one of the properties we were interested in on a Sunday. He drove around the neighborhood after taking a video on his phone, then drove to see another property we were interested in...one of which was the house we ended up buying. He knew how important location and the neighborhood were to our choice so taking the time to investigate the surrounding area really helped in our decision making process. Kevin, is a great communicator. Since we were living in a different market trying to purchase a new home he always made time and made us feel like our needs came first. I'm sure he had a few things going on at the same time, but found a way prioritize our business.

I strongly recommend Kevin Cohan. My husband and I needed to find a house and buy it before the end of our lease, which was in just 4 months. Kevin worked closely with us to find the perfect house for our needs in the price range we could afford! We couldn't be happier. Kevin had only our best interests in mind every step of the way. He is a pleasure to work with, good at keeping calm during what can be a stressful process, very knowledgeable, and always available and willing to help! He also knows tons of vendors in the area. He connected us with all the people we needed for inspections and even gave us great suggestions for painters and carpenters to assist with renovations after closing. I can't recommend him enough!

Kevin worked around the clock when I purchased my first home. He was always available for my last minute questions or concerns. He had a great list of recommendations. Everything from inspectors to structural engineers in my area. From his years of experience with real-estate he was able to give me honest advice for a new home buyer when purchasing an older house. When it came time to relocate for my job, I asked Kevin to be my listing agent and again I received highly professional, friendly, and hardworking service.

Hands down Kevin is the best in the area! We were very lucky to be able to work with him. He is very knowledgable and always went above and beyond for us. We had a lot of questions as first time home buyers, especially when it came to certain properties and Kevin would always gather every piece of the puzzle that we needed to make an informed decision. I would definitely recommend Kevin to anyone I know- He made the very stressful situation of buying a home fun!

My wife and I were really lucky to have him as first-time buyers. As pretentious as this may sound Kevin is great for the "millennial couple" looking to buy. He's very relaxed, doesn't push you into buying a place, he just presents the facts, checks out information that you're interested in, and most importantly (for us) was a texter. We were able to literally finalize the information for buying a house (!!!) while watching a movie. That's crazy! 10/10 would recommend.

We saw a house we liked online and Kevin met us there for a showing within a couple of hours. We had been looking long enough to know that this was the place for us and said, "Kevin, make it happen", and he did! He very calmly and professionally shepherded us through the inspection and bidding process which made the whole thing much less stressful. All the paperwork can be overwhelming, but it was all online and Kevin stayed on top of everything that needed to be done. Kevin is a native of the area and very well-connected, so has a lot of inside information and a good sense of property values. We would wholeheartedly recommend Kevin because of our satisfying experience.
