Throughout high school and college in Madison, WI, Collette assisted her family owned and operated real estate brokerage firm. This experience gave Collette the background and knowledge of the industry that have consistently made her a leader in the field. After spending several years in Washington, DC and Jacksonville, FL she relocated to Atlanta in 1995.
Collette has 19 years of sales and marketing management experience in the real estate and telecommunications industries. She is experienced and well versed in new product launches, budget management and contract negotiation. She not only sells real estate, but is also an investor herself. The family owned and operated BLYTHE LLC focuses on purchasing property for rental to participating families in the Section 8 HUD program in Metro Atlanta.
Collette is considered an expert not only in the Atlanta market but nationally as well. She continues to appear as a real estate expert for hit television shows on HGTV like Design To Sell, My First Place and Bang For The Buck. In order for Collette to continue to be one of the top Realtors in her field she is heavily involved in local community and civic associations. She was a founding memberof the Ashford Alliance Community Association (AACA) which represents over 25,000 households in the Atlanta market. She is instrumental in keeping residents informed of local community developments with her Collette's Community Connection (C3) news letter. This Monthly newsletter keeps the northern Atlanta communities informed of government, transportation and recreational happenings.
She also believes in giving back to her community and friends by operating a free, nonprofit health and fitness program called Recession Free BC. This focuses on using the community parks, fields, sidewalks and streets to encourage health and fitness while getting to know the neighborhood environment. Collette has given back to hundreds of people and was recently featured in Atlanta Parenting Magazine as a local community super hero.

Susan Haddon and Collette McDonald constantly pushed me towards homes above my explicitly stated budget or at the very upper end. It is clear that Susan was either incapable or unwilling to try to get me the best price on my home, which looking back - I clearly overpaid for. I'm sure Collette is a great selling agent, but don't count on her and especially not Susan to advocate on your behalf as a buyer.

After interviewing several agents we were most impressed with Collette. From day one she gave us expert guidance - comparing our house to recent sales, staging, recommended updates, pricing, and marketing plan. The process went very smoothly which took a lot of stress off of us. She was always quickly available. Collette did not professionally communicate a change in closing dates to all parties resulting in increased costs and additional professional time sacrificed and the emergency rescheduling of all logistics. She offered no apology or compensation and failed to follow up with all parties the week of closing. If you want someone to treat your potential buyers unprofessionally, she will not disappoint.

Collette helped my husband and I find our first home. From the initial conversation to closing day, Collette was always there to help. She’s enthusiastic and had qualities of a teacher, which was important to us as first time home buyers. She was thorough and explained every part of the process. Collette and her team were fantastic! We put our home on the market just after the Feds started their interest rate hikes and Collette still managed to get a contract very close to the asking price. Her team is efficient and kept us well informed every step of the way. We moved out of Atlanta prior to putting our home on the market and left everything in Collette's very capable hands. We only returned to Atlanta for the closing and it went off without a hitch!
