Don and Debbie Tollefson of Applegate Valley Realty are a great team! Don Tollefson has a lot of knowledge about construction and rural real estate and was very helpful in advising us about our purchase of our home on 5 acres in rural Merlin, Oregon. Debbie was great at handling all the paperwork and getting our loan thru and closed. I would definitely recommend this experienced team for both buying and selling your home.

I worked with Don twice in the last year. The first was the sale of a piece of property that had been in my family for over 60 years. Due to the nature of the sale it was in my best interest to sell it quickly, cash only, and no terms. This property was located in a less the desirable area in Josephine county. Don was able to sell this property within three days of listing it, for 10,000 over our asking price. The second time was in the purchase of a home for my wife and I. This was our first home, but not my first time handling real estate. The sale was complicated as it was a foreclosure and the seller was Freddie Mac. I have always felt Don did his best with a very tedious home purchase. In the end we bought the house for 25,000 under its appraisal. Don helped us every step of the way, even talking us out of backing out the sale when it came to a bidding war. Looking back, it was a very stressful time for my wife and I; I really appreciate the way Don helped us through the purchase. As a sales man, Don is not trying to rip people off. He has a job to help a buyer or seller with their property sale. And he does it well. Any home buyer should know that their agent is not there to make the decision of buying their home or not. Their agent is there to help them through the process of buying the home. Don did good work for us, and I could not have asked for a better job in the sale of my family’s property, and though in the purchases there was little he had to do as it was more my own responsibility to buy this home, he guided us through a very long and difficult process.

We are planning to relocate to Oregon within a year and Team Tollefson has done so much background work for us to make that happen. Deb has patiently taken us to many houses through snow,ice storms, and fog during our visits to Oregon. She has a bubbly personality that exudes warmth and a genuine interest in finding the perfect fit in a home. She is professional and confident and will track down any information we have requested. I would love to have her as a friend! I would highly recommend Team Tollefson to anyone looking for a home.

Debbie is awesome! She is a busy, successful realtor but she made us feel like we were her only clients. We were relocating from another state so most of our initial 'shopping' was online and via text and email. House-hunting from afar is not easy, plus we had very specific requirements. Few services today are delivered with care or any attempt to be outstanding. The Tollefsons, and the service they provided, stood out far and above what I was expecting, and truly is outstanding. From start to finish, through some unconventional circumstances, twists and turns, they were right on it. I never had to wonder if we were a priority. Even today, after the deal is done, they are available to help.They are a shining example I try to emulate in my own service business.

As a first time home buyer I was inexperienced in real estate and unfortunetly Don Tollefson did not help. I would have been better off buying it on my own.Both my wife and I felt that he was trying harder to help the sellers than to help us.For example we were told closing costs were negotiated and the seller was responsible, until the day we had to sign the title, he told us "I didn't even think to ask about closing costs". The week we moved in we found out the sellers had hidden a broken septic pipe, instead of fixing it. Unfortunately we ended up replacing $24,000 worth of hardwood floors before finding the recently covered broken pipe.I called Don the week we moved in about the toilet flooding and he started yelling! He told me one of my kids probably stuffed a toy down the toilet.No resolution was ever made...
