Alan was representing me as a buyer in a purchase and did a very poor job. As others have noted, the communication was horrible and I had to chase him all of the time to get answers. Post closing a major issue arose and he won't respond to anything. I regrettably will have to take legal actions to get things made right.

Worst experience renting in my life! My family and I moved up to Unicoi from another state to be closer to my job and to eliminate traveling. First off... Communication. Absolutely HORRIBLE. Alan does not communicate well at all by any means. We traveled up here to an apartment that was not even ready. We had to stay in a hotel for 2 nights just to wait for the apartment to be ready to be moved into. Even then, we move in, and nothing is completed. He had promised us that he'll have his worker come by a couple of days to finish the odds and ends around there. Instead he told him that we were good. We didn't need anything done there. So for 6 months we were there with unfinished flooring on the stairs. No vent for the dryer. Closet doors broken, not even hung up. Bathroom vents and fixtures not put up. Outlet and faceplate covers nowhere in sight. I had to purchase cover to put in myself to keep our 3 year old daughter from messing with live wiring. Back deck that he stated was new, exact opposite. Rotten. Banister moves 6 inches when you lean on it. No air vents in the living room so stays hot in the summer. Had issues with 2 of our vehicles being keyed so I got a camera and put it outside. Ended up having issues out of the neighbor in unit 4 time and time a again. Had pictures and video proof of the issues, and he fed us and the neighbors different stories as to why the issue wasn't getting dealt with. Ended up evicting us. Simply because he was tired of hearing us complain. Addressing issues is all we were doing. Evicted us and had the place promised to a "buddy" of his before we even moved out. $3000 gone to waste. Save your time and money and rent elsewhere. Do not ever rent from this man!

I was recommended by a friend to call J. Alan McInturff to work with me as an Agent in helping me find a home. In our first meeting with each other, I told Alan what I was looking for, at this time, he suggested that it would be the best for me to consider purchasing a condo verses a residential home. With my schedule, a home was not practical. We look at approximately 12 condo's over a week's period. At this time, he recommended the perfect one based on the location and more so based on the resale of the unit. Alan took upon his own to lead me step by step in the process of writing the contract, setting up the meeting with the Mortgage Company and the loan officer as well. Alan met with me during the home inspection and stay there during the four hours that the inspector was there. Alan went as far as looking for best interest rate and which bank would best suit financial needs. The closing went great and I am now a homeowner and couldn't be any happier. I had been a renter for so many years with nothing to show for the money that I had spent. I would recommend J. Alan to any of my family, friends or even my co-workers at work. Alan's knowledge and experience is exactly what a first time buyer really needs when purchasing a home. In closing I would highly choose Alan again and again when looking for property of any sort.
