About Karen Kryzanowsky Associate Broker

Karen Kryzanowsky RENE, SRS, Associate Broker, epitomizes integrity, hard work, attention to detail and creativity in every detail of your real estate transaction.

Karen grew up in a large family in Connecticut.  After high school, she joined the United States Air Force to see the world. As an intelligence/data analyst she lived and worked all over the far east and the middle east.  Including a tour in the first Gulf war. After her second tour she decided it was time to get that degree. Karen is extremely mission oriented and she continued to work full time during the day, as she pursued her degree full time at night at University of Md University College.  She graduated in 4 years with Bachelors degree in Information Systems/Technology Management achieving a GPA of 3.65. Karen and Her husband lived in the National Capital area serving our country for about 38 years both in the military and in the private sector/government contracting. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.

When her husband was ready to retire, Karen still had a lot of service left in her.  Always a people person, Karen decided that the best way to continue to contribute was through Real estate.  Long time owners at Smith Mountain lake, they were finally able to move here full time in 2014.

A big believer in self improvement and continuing education, Karen recently completed 180 hours of Real Estate Broker training in 6 weeks and is now an Associate Broker. She also recently achieved designations as a Seller Representative Specialists (SRS), and an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) as well as two certifications; Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE), and Resort and Second-home Property Specialists (RSPS).

Karen is very active in her community, a member of American Legion post 62,  an avid hiker/walker. She actively supports SML good Neighbors and participates in fund raisers for Civitan. She makes some of the finest artisan jams and jellies and caramels in the area; winning either Blue or Red ribbons on every entry she has submitted to the county fair.

Karen’s skills with Data analysis and the discipline, integrity, thoroughness and tenacity she developed in the service serves her very well in the real estate business.  She absolutely loves working with people on the most important transactions they will ever make.

“God is calling you to change the world one life at a time and one small step at a time. Begin today where you are.”

Risks And Rewards Of Selling Your Home Without A Realtor

Risks And Rewards Of Selling Your Home Without A Realtor

From the perspective of a home buyer, the position of a real estate agent can seem unjustified in its existence. Why in the world would you pay someone 6% commission on the total sale price of your home, just so that they can set up a couple signs in the yard and do some paperwork?
