As a resident of Northern Virginia for over 40 years, I have seen the Route 50 corridor grow from horse farms & country stores to major shopping centers, office parks & master-planned communities. While attending George Mason University & working in a local pizza shop, I met Margaret Whiston, who ran a floral business in Vienna, Virginia, she became my mentor. I knew I wanted to own my own business & I always appreciated the art of gardening & arranging flowers. My business was soon launched & I concentrated on weddings & high-end corporate accounts in Washington, D.C. While running that company for 21 years, I learned the importance of consistency, customer satisfaction, great service & referrals.
While I was in the floral business, I also initiated a 501C3 organization to give back to my local community. The Stone Ridge 5K Race for Education was born out of the desire to bring together all of the different communities along the Route 50 corridor that make up the Loudoun County area known as Dulles South. In an effort to fund the academic and athletic needs of new schools most affected by the growth throughout Dulles South, I created a 5K Race & 1K Fun Run to raise money. From 2005-2016, the race has donated over $250,000 to the local schools.
With the race in high gear, I was approached by a number of home builders in the area about coming to work for them in sales. Since I have a huge interest in remodeling, construction, decorating & buying real estate for investment, I thought it sounded liked a perfect opportunity.
After working alongside some of the most respected builders in the nation for four years, I developed a knowledge base that assists my clients with choosing the right home site & structural options, understanding easements, keeping to a budget for a nicely appointed home inside and out, setting expectations on all the different appointments along the way that need to be kept. Having been the Sales Manager in new construction, I know what it is like to sit on the other side of the table & I know how the process works. I believe this is an advantage over other Real Estate agents that do not have this experience. The local builders pay the Realtors fees, those fees do not get passed on to the buyer, & even more, I offer a credit back to all my new construction buyers to help with their closing costs.
“Love what you do & you’ll never work a day in your life” is the best mindset I can think of that describes my outlook on my career. There is no better feeling than to see clients moving into their new homes, overjoyed that they chose the right one.
I feel that Prepping & Staging your home for sale is about the most important and sometimes overlooked thing in Real Estate. Make each room have sense of purpose, it does not take a lot of money, it does take a creative mind & a sense of style. I STAGE ALL MY LISTINGS FOR FREE, I have referrals from many happy clients that will definitely point out that if it weren’t for the staging & designing their homes for their potential buyer, their home may not have sold for top dollar and so fast.

Lisa did an outstanding job from the first time we met until the closing was completed. Her knowledge of the local market was past outstanding. She was prompt with everything that she provided me. Lisa Smith is the literal residential expert of our neighborhood and the surrounding area.
