Mike began his career in law enforcement spending 24 years with the Arlington County, Virginia Police Department. During his law enforcement career, he served in various capacities including robbery/homicide detective, motorcycle officer (yes, got paid to ride a Harley all day) and the robbery/homicide squad supervisor. Riding into the sunset in 2000, his final four years with the police department were as a commander. Previous to his service with the police department, Mike spent three years in the US Army.
After his law enforcement career, Mike was employed by the University of Maryland for three years serving as a director in a School of Engineering project. This work encompassed the development of integrated public safety and transportation data communications.
Mike then moved into an aviation career with an aircraft manufacturer in 2003 and relocated to the Grand Strand in 2005 to manage their facilities in Myrtle Beach. He has been a private pilot for over 29 years.
Mike holds a Bachelor's Degree from American University in Washington, DC. Additionally, Mike has served as Chairman of the Coastal Industrial Alliance, Executive Board Member of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Chamber's Legislative Policy Council, and Board Member with the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation
