After a bad experience with another realtor, Mitzi and Jonathan helped us find the house we were looking for. They were patient with us as we sought the perfect home. Mitzi was always quick to respond to messages, even if busy she would let me know, then get back with me later. She even negotiated with the seller to save us money!! Mitzi is very knowledgeable about the Dickson area. Once she has an idea of what you’re looking for, she won’t rest until you find what you want. Mitzi makes you feel like you’re the only client she has. She’s incredibly kind but also honest- she will tell you if there’s a red flag on a house you’re looking at. Whether you’re buying or selling, you won’t find a better more dedicated agent in the Dickson area.

I recently moved here from Florida, and Mitzi Matlock was a godsend!! She was so very patient and accommodating to me, as I was moving back the area where I grew up in, and was very picky on what I wanted. Lol. She would sometimes look at the same house with me twice!!! Just so I could make sure if I wanted it or not. During the buying process, she and Johnathan were very helpful and making sure that I was up-to-date on the process, that I knew what I was signing, and that it was a smooth process. If I had any questions, they were very responsive and/or would find out for me. Mitzi became like family to me, and I appreciate her so much! If you need a good realtor in the area, Mitzi Matlock and Johnathan are the best in the business!! And if I ever need a realtor in the future, I will be contacting them for sure and referring family and friends.

Relocating for a job is already stressful, and this experience made it clear just how critical it is to have a strong, proactive realtor advocating for you.Our family was in the process of relocating for my husband’s career, using a company provided relocation service to handle both the sale of our current home and the purchase of a new one out of state. Unfortunately, the first agent we were assigned was extremely difficult to work with. Communication was limited to a narrow window between 10am–6pm, and when we provided a clear list of our needs and wants, we were told our criteria was “too specific” and that we should sift through listings ourselves. We were also informed that even a quick call required 24 hours’ notice, something that simply doesn’t work when you’re on a tight relocation timeline.Recognizing the urgency of our situation, we requested a different agent. While the second agent was more responsive, the experience still fell short. When we found a home we loved and were ready to make an offer, we were advised to “wheel and deal” by asking for unnecessary extras just to negotiate. Advice that felt more like buying a used car than making a meaningful investment. We chose to move forward with an offer we felt was fair and solid.Things became even more frustrating during the inspection phase. After identifying a few reasonable repair requests, our agent took three full days just to send the email to the seller’s agent. Despite both agents knowing we were only in town for five days and working under strict time constraints, there was no sense of urgency on either side. The seller’s agent also failed to follow up proactively when there was no response.On the day we were leaving town, the seller’s agent finally reached out saying she had just received the request and would pass it along—far too late. After multiple attempts to communicate our timeline through calls and texts, we ultimately decided to walk away from the deal. The response we received was unprofessional, ending with raised voices and the call being abruptly hung up. To add to the frustration, we didn’t hear from our assigned agent at all for the next five days, despite them knowing how time-sensitive our situation was.Shortly after our relocation was canceled due to company changes, bringing the situation to a close but the experience left a lasting impression.On a positive note, we’ve had consistently excellent experiences with our local realtors, Mitzi and Johnathon, across six separate buy/sell transactions. They’ve always been responsive, professional, and truly advocated for our best interests.This experience reinforced an important lesson: the quality of your realtor matters more than you might think. Having someone you trust who communicates well, acts with urgency, and genuinely works for you can make all the difference in what is often one of life’s most significant transactions.
