Ellen is a full-time realtor with 17 years of real estate experience in the Florida Keys. As an expert Sotheby's International Realty Advisor, she offers her clients local market expertise, a commitment to quality personal service and the ability to reach buyers and sellers worldwide.
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.
That said, in my experience as a Key West real estate professional, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.
This "client first" philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I've found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I've always done, only much more quickly and efficiently.
Ellen was born in Berlin, Germany. She has a Master’s degree in North and South American Studies and Journalism. During her University years she lived in Berlin; Cambridge, England; and Costa de la Luz, Spain. In 1998, she visited and fell in love with the beauty of the Florida Keys. A year later she moved to Key West and started her real estate career in 2003. She has been a full time residential and commercial real estate agent ever since.
She offers Sellers a comprehensive international marketing program which includes professional internet marketing, print advertising in local and exclusive national and international magazines, virtual tours, Video, Facebook and YouTube exposure, open houses, realtor caravans and more. With buyers, she works exclusively for clients in search of new properties guiding them through the buying process, understanding and knowing the specific needs. She will help you selecting and viewing properties, negotiating on your behalf, managing inspections, and permits, and connecting them to mortgage and insurance experts, contractors, land planners until the closing and after. She is also a designated short sale and foreclosure specialist.
Ellen and her husband have two wonderful boys and they are all very involved in the community of Key West.

I listed my condo in Key West with Ellen and couldn’t have been happier with the result. Ellen advised me on the listing price, which was significantly higher than I had planned. Thanks to her market knowledge, aggressive marketing of the property, and strong ties to other realtors we quickly had a couple good offers. We ended up accepting an all cash offer only a few thousand dollars under the listing price. Ellen, was awesome, very patient and knowledgeable. We had a great time looking for our new dream home and she helped us find it! Professional service, collected us from the hotel and showed us round 6 properties over the weekend. Helped us select the homes we viewed from our criteria and the final decision was very difficult, but we are very pleased with the home we bought. We would highly recommend Ellen.

Ellen did a wonderful job in helping us buy our winter condo in Key West. She was prompt and professional, starting with contacting us within 10 minutes of our initial inquiry! She was always available and offered useful advice during the process. She willingly helped with our special requests, arranging for painters and finding other help. She always stayed on top of matters and made sure we were able to close in a timely, convenient manner for us. Also, her office staff and organization were extremely welcoming and always available to help. I really can't say enough about Ellen. She certainly was the best realtor I have dealt with and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone buying or selling in the Keys.
