I grew up in a small town of northwestern Connecticut with the rolling hills, woods and meadows of the Appalachian foothills. With two horses at home, we were one of the many small equestrian farms in an area rich in equestrian activities. I found western NC and the SC upstate during a business trip in the early 1990’s. I knew this would be my future home and I moved here in 1995. My wife Laura is a lifelong resident of this area and we have two lovely daughters and six wonderful grandchildren. My parents moved here to a small horse farm bring their horses, dogs and love of the outdoors with them.
My Bachelor’s degree in Architecture was earned at Rhode Island School of Design (Providence, RI) and was followed by a 4 year architectural apprenticeship in Connecticut. My professional work has always centered on guiding people to reach their dream of home ownership. My experience in residential design, consulting and teaching of CADD and enterprise wide sales systems and leading individuals in developing their dream homes in private communities has led me to bring my professional experience to a career in real estate. I am honored to help people find their dream home in the magnificent mountains and foothills of Western NC, that mean so much to me.

Kirk Bowden is a true professional. He showed up to my home shortly after I called and was willing to help get it listed as soon as I was ready. He gave some recommendations to get the home ready, showed up a few days later and took some excellent pictures. The listing looked better than I could have imagined and he was always "on the clock" regarding showings, houses we wanted to see, etc. On the buying end, he is equally impressive. We found him to be totally honest in giving his expert opinion on the homes we looked at. On more than one occasion, he expressed concerns about houses we were viewing that we would not have caught ourselves. At no point did he ever try to persuade us into anything we weren't sure about. He knows the Foothills SC / Western NC as well as anyone I have encountered and comes highly recommended.

Kirk Bowden was absolutely wonderful to work with. He went way beyond the call of duty in helping me find the right house especially since I have 4 dogs. Not only was the house important but the right size of the property was a must for the dogs. Kirk was always professional, very responsive and knowledgeable about the local area. We worked well together during the negotiation process. Kirk has an architectural background which was a real plus in making sure the house was sound and a good investment. He arranged for the building inspection, and closing attorney. I would recommend Kirk 110% to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.
