When she closes her eyes, Maryanne Telese can still feel the excitement of that special opening night...

New York City Opera. Famed Lincoln Center. Opening night of the season. Packed house. Maryanne is touching up her makeup and doing vocal warmups before the curtain goes up. Maryanne has performed the soprano role of Cio-Cio-San in Puccini's famous opera Madama Butterfly countless times but she wants to make sure the performance goes perfectly. It's what the patrons deserve and she doesn't want to disappoint.

Maryanne has performed the lead soprano role of Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly for more than 30 productions throughout the world. Every time, the heartfelt emotion of the Puccini classic moves her to.

The tragic story of love and loss and hope and despair always seems to resonate deep in Maryanne's soul. From the famous "Butterfly Entrance" until her passionate performance of the final aria, "Tu? tu...piccolo iddio!," Maryanne is moved by the emotion of the music and is completely focused on the moment of connection with the audience. Seeing the tears on their faces and hearing the enthusiastic applause is a greater thrill than any of the awards or rave reviews she has received. Since she was 8 years old, all Maryanne wanted to do was sing. Growing up in New Jersey, she played the piano and sang in school concerts at the War Memorial Opera House. She showed a natural ability to express her emotions through music.

After training at the prestigious Oberlin Conservatory of Music, she embarked on a 25-year career of performing leading soprano roles in major opera houses around the country and throughout Europe.

In one of her more memorable performances, Maryanne sang at the Power Center several years ago and fell in love with the cultural richness of Ann Arbor. So when her husband, Stephen, also a professional opera singer, had a chance to take a teaching position at the University of Michigan, she did not hesitate to move here and has loved every minute. Although no longer singing professionally, Maryanne still enjoys connecting with people. In her career as one of the area's leading real estate professionals, she has found the perfect outlet to continue to make a special connection with others.

The same passion Maryanne has for connecting with people through her music is always evident when she is serving the home buying and selling needs of the community she has grown to love.

If you think Maryanne is passionate when singing on stage, you should see her go to work everyday helping people in the community achieve their dreams of buying or selling a home. If Maryanne learned one thing in her career as a singer, it is the importance of communicating with your audience. In real estate, she makes it a point to always keep her clients apprised of every step of the transaction. She understands your busy schedule and works hard to ensure quick and efficient handling of your home purchase or sale. She does so by keeping you informed and up-to-date with all the pertinent information you need to make sound decisions for the needs of you and your family.

After traveling so much in her career as a singer, Maryanne appreciates the importance of a place to call home. That's why when she is working with her clients toward their home purchase, she is not only helping them find a house but a home where they can encourage their children to pursue their passions in life. When you are in the market to buy or sell a home in Ann Arbor or just have a few questions on the area's dynamic real estate market, count on the passionate approach of Maryanne Telese to help make your next move the best yet.
