Expectation vs Reality Kids eating

Every time I see a TV commercial with kids eating all nice and polite, properly using forks, eating vegetable smiling... I just want to throw my remote control on the screen!

That's SO far from the truth!

The reality I know of children eating by themselves is of stained wardrobe, filthy floor, burps, 90 minutes-long nightmare where you're constantly saying less polite variations of "for the love of God, eat your food and get done with it because I have to clean this mess, give you a shower, tuck you in, and still deal with my own life". 

Is it just me? Am I the wrong one? In what world does that perfect neat dinner experience exist?!  Tell me in the comments because I wanna move there! NOW!
