Dallas is quickly becoming a popular town with college students, professionals, and retirees. The city's robust economy offers a great future to people in a variety of fields. Real estate agents in Dallas have many selling points to use when showing houses around town.

Dallas was incorporated in 1856. In these early days, the city flourished in the grain, cotton, and cattle industries. The arrival of railroad lines transformed Dallas into an inland distribution hub for many types of commodities. The town received yet another boon when oil was discovered not far from town. Dallas's banking industry grew considerably by issuing loans to develop oil fields. These days, the telecommunication and information technology sectors form a large part of Dallas's economy, resulting in the nickname "Silicon Prairie".

Students in Dallas can attend one of 337 public schools or 89 charter and private schools. The city's huge selection of colleges and universities makes it a regional hub for education. University of Texas at Dallas, University of Dallas, and the Texas A&M Dallas Research and Extension Center are just a few of the higher education opportunities in town.

Residents can enjoy high culture pursuits at the Dallas Museum of Art, the Dallas Center for Performing Arts, or the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The State Fair of Texas is held in Fair Park in Dallas. The fair is a grand event with visitors from all over the country attending every year. The city's Mexican-American heritage is showcased in the annual Cinco de Mayo parade downtown. The Dallas Zoo is another fun location for both children and adults.

These reasons and more are why Dallas continues to grow and prosper. If you are eager to settle down in this exciting town, contact a Dallas real estate agent. They will be able to help you find an affordable home in the Dallas area that suits your needs.
